Islamabad likely venue for second round of US-Iran talks, signals White House

Washington / Islamabad (Web Desk): The White House has made a significant statement regarding ongoing diplomatic efforts with Iran, indicating strong confidence in Pakistan’s role as a mediator.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stated during a media briefing that President Donald Trump has expressed trust in Pakistan alone for facilitating negotiations with Iran, despite offers of mediation from several other countries.

She said the US position remains that meaningful dialogue is being conducted through Pakistan, and there is a strong possibility that the second round of talks will be held in Islamabad.

According to the spokesperson, discussions with Iran are continuing in a constructive direction. However, she clarified that the United States has not requested any extension of a ceasefire arrangement.

She also stated that strict enforcement measures regarding the Strait of Hormuz blockade remain in place.

The White House further acknowledged Pakistan’s efforts in facilitating communication between the two sides and expressed appreciation for its diplomatic role and continued cooperation.
