PM Shehbaz meets Saudi Crown Prince on sidelines of Arab–Islamic summit in Doha

Doha (Web Desk): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, on Monday on the sidelinesof the Emergency Arab–Islamic Summit in Doha, which had been called after Israel’s attack on Qatar on September 9.

The meeting was also joined by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir.

In their cordial conversation, the two leaders discussed the volatile situation following Israel’s aggression in Doha.

PM Shehbaz strongly condemned the strike, calling it a deliberate effort to obstruct peace efforts in the Middle East.

He praised the Crown Prince’s wise and decisive leadership in uniting the Muslim Ummah at such a sensitive moment and assured him of Pakistan’s complete diplomatic support, particularly at the UN Security Council where Pakistan currently serves as a non-permanent member, as well as in the OIC and other multilateral forums.

The prime minister stressed that the convening of the Emergency Summit had sent a powerful message of unity from Muslims worldwide against Israel’s unlawful and reckless actions, which posed a serious threat to regional peace and stability.

He also reaffirmed the enduring fraternal ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia and thanked the Kingdom for its consistent support through all circumstances.

The Crown Prince said that he was looking forward to PM’s upcoming State Visit to Riyadh later this week, that would provide both sides an important opportunity for a comprehensive exchange of views on bilateral as well as regional and global issues.

Prime Minister Shehbaz extended warm respects for King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, while the Crown Prince expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s leadership and its active diplomatic role, particularly at the UN and OIC, in voicing solidarity with Qatar during this critical period.
