President Zardari, Field Marshal Asim Munir discuss internal and external security situation

Islamabad (Web Desk): President Asif Ali Zardari has expressed full confidence in the strength, valour, capacity, and preparedness of Pakistan's Armed Forces.

He made these remarks while speaking with Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, who called on him at the Aiwan-e-Sadr (Presidency) in Islamabad on Wednesday.

President Zardari reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering resolve to protect its national sovereignty and territorial integrity under any circumstances.

Field Marshal Munir briefed the President on the overall security environment, covering both internal and external aspects.

He also apprised the president of the recent escalation triggered by the Afghan Taliban regime’s provocative actions and the as well as the measured and befitting response by the Armed Forces of Pakistan.

President Zardari lauded the Armed Forces for their professionalism, alertness, and swift defense of the nation’s borders, acknowledging their effective response in repelling cross-border aggression along the Afghan border.
