Saudi air defence intercepts Houthi missile fired from Yemen

Riyadh (Web Desk): Saudi Arabia’s air defence forces intercepted a ballistic missile fired by Iran's backed Houthi militia over the southern Saudi Arabian city of Jazan on Tuesday, a Saudi-led Arab coalition spokesperson said.

Col. Turki Al-Maliki said that the missile was directed towards populated areas in Jazan province, Arab News reported.

Al-Maliki added that Saudi Arabian air defence units spotted the launch of the missile from the Houthi militia stronghold of Saada in northern Yemen.

The missile, according to the spokesperson, is another example of Iran's continued backing of the militia, and providing militants with new capabilities that is in contravention of all international laws.
