Lahore (Web Desk): Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Monday reaffirmed that maintenance of law and order during Muharram-ul-Haram is the foremost priority of the government.
While presiding over a meeting in Lahore to evaluate the arrangements for the holy month, she directed officials to put in place stringent security measures for all Majalis and mourning processions to ensure the safety of participants.
Maryam Nawaz further directed the relevant authorities to set up Sabeels offering cold drinking water and Sharbat along procession routes to facilitate participants.
The Punjab CM also ordered that field hospitals be deployed and kept operational on procession routes so that immediate medical assistance can be provided whenever required.
