Quetta (Staff Report): Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday visited Quetta and condoled with the families of Nawabzada Siraj Raisani and other victims of Mastung blast.
While talking to media during his visit, Shehbaz said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan should refrain from doing politics at the time the country is reeling from the Mastung tragedy, which claimed 131 lives and wounded several others.
He said that the entire nation is in mourning and the PTI chairman ‘should be ashamed for making allegations’ at a wretched time.
“All the political parties are facing difficulties in election campaign, except for one, which has been given permission to continue with the campaign,” he said.
The PML-N president said that if the elections procedure was to make controversial then the irreparable loss would be faced.
Solution to every problem lies in fair and transparent elections, said Shehbaz Sharif.
On Saturday, the caretaker federal government declared Sunday as a day of national mourning over recent terrorist attacks in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
"In view of tragic incidents of terrorist attacks at Peshawar on July 10 and in Mastung and Bannu on July 13, 2018, the federal government has announced to observe one day official mourning throughout the country" on Sunday, said an official announcement from the Prime Minister's Office.
It said that the national flag will fly at half mast on Sunday to mourn the deaths of nearly 150 people in the recent terrorist attacks ahead of the general elections.
The PM Office also directed the Ministry of Interior to formally issue a notification for declaration of Sunday as the day of mourning.
