Trump says he will permanently open Strait of Hormuz, claims China is 'very happy' about him

Washington (Web Desk/Agencies): Us President Donald Trump has claimed that China is pleased with his decision to “permanently opening the Strait of Hormuz,” presenting it as a move that benefits both Beijing and the wider international community.

In a post shared on Truth Social, he suggested that the development reflects cooperation and broader global advantage, while also making remarks about diplomatic understanding with Beijing.

He stated, “I am doing it for them, also And the World. This situation will never happen again. They have agreed not to send weapons to Iran,” he asserted.

He further added a lighter personal remark about his upcoming engagement with Chinese leadership, saying, “President Xi will give me a big, fat, hug when I get there in a few weeks,” referring to Xi Jinping.

Concluding his message on a confident and combative note, he said, “We are working together smartly, and very well! Doesn’t that beat fighting??? BUT REMEMBER, we are very good at fighting, if we have to — far better than anyone else!!!”

Earlier, the US president expressed optimism about easing tensions with Iran and the prospect of a new international agreement, stating that Tehran now appears willing to seriously engage in a fresh deal.

In remarks during an interview with Fox News and while speaking to journalists at the White House, Trump claimed that Iranian leadership is prepared to return to the negotiating table and that an extension of the ceasefire may no longer be necessary, as he believes a comprehensive agreement would be the most effective solution.

The US president also made a notable diplomatic reference, indicating that Islamabad is being considered as a preferred venue for the next round of talks.

He implied that Pakistan could play a pivotal mediating role in efforts to resolve this highly sensitive international dispute.

Commenting on the situation in Iran, Trump said, “This agreement will give Iran an opportunity for stability and rebuilding.

However, given the condition Iran has reached, it will take at least 20 years for full reconstruction.”

He further claimed that without his intervention, Iran would already have become a nuclear power.

President Trump added that the US will never allow Iran to acquire nuclear weapons, emphasizing that current pressure is aimed at safeguarding the region from nuclear risks.

Drawing global media attention, the US president also cautioned reporters to closely monitor developments, stressing that the next 48 hours are critical.

In a cryptic remark, he said, “You should stay right there, something big is going to happen in the next two days.”

Diplomatic sources from Pakistan, Iran, and Gulf states have indicated that US and Iranian negotiating teams could return to Pakistan later this week for another round of discussions, although a senior Iranian official has stressed that no fixed date has yet been agreed.
