Islamabad (Staff Report): The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Friday issued a stay order on the federal government's notification removing Muhstaq Sukhera as federal tax ombudsman.
The court ordered that the law ministry notification removing Mushtaq Sukhera would remain suspended until the next hearing.
On Thursday, the federal government had removed Sukhera from the post of federal tax ombudsman.
The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government, in August 2017, appointed former Punjab police chief as the federal tax ombudsman.
It is pertinent to mention here that Sukhera was sacked after the federal government filed a reference to the Law Ministry against him for his alleged failure to avert the 2014 Lahore's Model Town incident.
