PM Shehbaz reaffirms Pakistan's unwavering solidarity with Palestinian people 

Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt (Web Desk): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday met several world leaders on the sidelines of the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to regional peace and expressing solidarity with the people of Palestine.

In a rare trilateral engagement, he held talks with Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev and Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, where the three leaders voiced satisfaction over the recent Gaza ceasefire.

The meeting was seen as a significant moment of alignment between the two rival Caucasus nations, highlighting the shared global resolve to de-escalate tensions in the Middle East.

The Prime Minister also conducted bilateral meetings with a number of prominent figures, including King Abdullah II of Jordan, King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain, UN Secretary-General António Guterres, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, and Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud.

During these discussions, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif underscored the urgent need for collective and coordinated action to restore peace and stability in the region. He reiterated Pakistan’s consistent stance on the Palestinian question, assuring that Islamabad would continue to extend both diplomatic and moral support to the Palestinian people.

“Our position is founded on principles of justice and humanity,” he remarked. “Pakistan will always stand by the Palestinians and back every peaceful initiative aimed at ending bloodshed and safeguarding their legitimate rights.”

The series of meetings also covered broader issues concerning regional stability, enhanced multilateral cooperation, and the promotion of dialogue as a means to resolve long-standing international conflicts.
Earlier in the day, PM Shehbaz hailed the Gaza peace plan as a defining move toward establishing permanent peace in the Middle East.

In a message posted on X, he shared that he had reached Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, to participate in the signing of the landmark Gaza peace accord.

The premier expressed deep appreciation to the hosts of the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and U.S. President Donald Trump, for their pivotal roles in making the agreement possible.

PM Shehbaz commended President Trump’s exceptional leadership, noting that his tireless pursuit of peace and steadfast commitment were instrumental in halting the cycle of violence and destruction that had plagued the region.

He said the day’s ceremony marked the conclusion of a dark, genocidal era — one that humanity must ensure never resurfaces.

Reaffirming Pakistan’s support for the Palestinian cause, PM Shehbaz said the courageous people of Palestine have the right to live in a sovereign and free state, within the pre-1967 boundaries, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as their rightful capital.
