Jerusalem (Web Desk): US President Donald Trump, addressing the Israeli parliament, hailed the Middle East peace accord as a “historic achievement” and declared that a new dawn had risen over the region.
“This is historic dawn of a new Middle East,” he said, adding that “The guns have fallen silent, and future generations will remember this moment of change.”
Trump emphasized that the United States had always stood by Israel in difficult times and that Israel’s success had been achieved through strength and determination. “Israel has won,” he stated firmly, “and now it is time for peace in the Middle East.”
He described the Gaza peace agreement as an extraordinary breakthrough for both the region and the wider world, praising Arab and Muslim nations for playing a vital role in making it possible. “This is not merely the end of a war,” Trump continued, “but the beginning of a new hope.”
The US president said the people of Gaza should now focus on reconstruction, stability, security, dignity, and economic growth.
Extending an olive branch to Iran, he said the doors of friendship and cooperation would remain open, but he warned that Tehran must never again attempt to develop nuclear weapons.
Trump revealed that American forces had targeted Iranian facilities, stating, “We dropped 14 bombs to dismantle Iran’s nuclear infrastructure. If Iran still had nuclear weapons, we would not be here today.” He also called the defeat of Hezbollah a joint success for the United States and Israel.
Congratulating Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on achieving a ceasefire, Trump said, “Netanyahu, you must now become a good man, because you are no longer at war.” He added that the Israeli army had eliminated destructive forces in the Middle East, transforming Israel into a symbol of pride for the world.
Trump revealed that his daughter Ivanka had embraced Judaism and expressed his hope that peace would endure. He remarked, “After the Holocaust, October 7 was the darkest tragedy for the Jewish people, but today we have made the impossible possible.”
Concluding his speech, Trump announced the creation of a “Board of Peace” to oversee Gaza’s reconstruction, noting that many had urged him to lead it. “This peace accord,” he said, “is not only a victory for Israel but a triumph for the entire world.”
Following his Israel visit, the US president is scheduled to travel to Egypt to take part in a Middle East peace summit, bringing together delegates from more than 20 countries to discuss Gaza’s future.
As part of the broader peace arrangement, Israel has also freed 250 Palestinian detainees held since October 7, 2023 — a move seen as a gesture toward reconciliation and stability in the region.
