Rawalpindi (Web Desk): Security forces killed 21 terrorists belonging to Indian-sponsored Fitna-al-Khwarij during intelligence based operations in Miran Shah and surroundings in Kyber Pakhtunkhawa’s (KP) North Waziristan, the military’s media wing said on Saturday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), in continuation of series of intelligence-based operations being conducted at multiple Khwarijs’ locations were engaged in general area Miran Shah and surroundings in North Waziristan.
"Following fierce fire exchanges, in last seventy two hours, twenty one more khwarij belonging to Indian-sponsored Fitna-al-Khwarij including four kharji Ring leaders (Kharji Khalid Raza alias Salar, Kharji Muftoon, Kharji Musa and Kharji Imran alias Ayan) have been sent to hell, thereby causing a significant blow to the khwarijs’ network operating in the area," it said.
The statement added that the killed Kharji Ring leaders were highly wanted for their involvement in numerous terrorist activities including killing of security forces personnel and innocent civilians.
"So far, in total, 48 khwarij have been killed in these highly skilful and precise operations. Weapons and ammunition have also been recovered from killed Indian-sponsored Khwarij, who remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities and killing of innocent civilians," the ISPR said.
The military’s media wing said that sanitization operations will continue to eliminate remaining holed up khwarij from these areas.
"Relentless Counter Terrorism campaign under vision “Azm e Istehkam” (as approved by Federal Apex Committee on National Action Plan) by Security Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies of Pakistan will continue at full pace to wipe out the menace of foreign sponsored and supported terrorism from the country," the ISPR said.
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have praised the security forces for carrying out successful operations against Fitna Al-Khawarij in North Waziristan.
In separate statements, the president and the premier described the elimination of key Kharji commanders as a major achievement in the ongoing campaign against terrorist networks operating in the region.
President Zardari said that the entire nation stands firmly alongside its courageous security personnel and appreciates their sacrifices in safeguarding the country.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also lauded the security forces for killing 21 Indian-backed Fitna Al-Khawarij militants during operations in North Waziristan.
He said the country's armed forces are securing significant victories against terrorism under the Azm-e-Istehkam initiative and continue to demonstrate unwavering commitment to national security.
Reaffirming the government's resolve, PM Shehbaz said that Pakistan's fight against terrorists will continue until the complete eradication of terrorism from the country.
