Security forces kill 27 Indian-sponsored terrorists in North Waziristan IBOs: ISPR

Rawalpindi (Web Desk): Security forces eliminated 27 terrorists belonging to the Indian-sponsored Fitna-al-Khwarij during intelligence-base operation (IBOs) in the Miran Shah area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's (KP) North Waziristan district over the past 72 hours, the military’s media wing said on Sunday.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the security forces engaged multiple Khwarij locations in the district.

It added that weapons and ammunition were recovered from the killed Indian-sponsored Khwarij, who remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities and target killings of innocent civilians.

“By neutralizing this group of Khwarij, the heinous act of target killing of prominent figure Shaheed Malik Saifullah Dawar in Miranshah has been avenged and the perpetrators have been brought to justice,” the statement said.

The military’s media wing said that sanitization operations continue to eliminate the holed-up Khwarij from these areas.

“Relentless counter-terrorism campaign under the vision “Azm-e-Istehkam” continues at full pace to wipe out the menace of foreign sponsored and supported terrorism from the country,” the ISPR said.

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have paid rich tribute to security forces following successful counter-terrorism operations in North Waziristan, where 27 India-backed Khwarij were neutralized.

In their separate statements, the president and the premier lauded the courage, discipline, and effectiveness of the armed forces and reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering determination to continue its fight against terrorism until it is completely eradicated.

They further stated that the entire nation remains firmly aligned with its security institutions in countering the hostile agenda of Fitna-al-Khwarij and its sponsors, stressing that all such conspiracies will be decisively defeated.
