Lahore (Staff Report): A newly-wed woman was arrested on Monday after her husband escaped an assassination attempt on his wedding day.
Irfan, 25, was critically injured on Sunday after he was shot by two unidentified armed men in Shafiqabad area when he was on the way back to home after wedding ceremony.
The groom's father registered an FIR against the bride and her relatives over the suspicion of planning his murder.
Irfan was taken to the Mayo Hospital for medical aid in critical condition.
According to police, the armed men managed to escape the spot and police investigation is underway.
