Pakistan, Belgium agree to strengthen cooperation against illegal immigration, smuggling 

Islamabad (Web Desk): Federal Minister for Interior and Narcotics Control Mohsin Naqvi, during his official trip to Belgium, held an important meeting with Belgian Interior Minister Bernard Clerfayt for a significant conversation focused on boosting cooperation between the two countries, particularly in stopping illegal immigration and the smuggling of migrants.

In the meeting, the two sides agreed to step up their joint efforts against migrant-smuggling networks and to broaden coordination in counterterrorism, narcotics control, and the joint training of paramilitary personnel.

Mohsin Naqvi underscored that the global community must move toward a unified approach supported by coordinated actions to effectively curb illegal migration.

The interior minister pointed out that Pakistan has already enforced strict and practical measures to prevent people from attempting unlawful travel.

Belgian Interior Minister Bernard Clerfayt praised Pakistan’s progress in counterterrorism and its determined steps against illegal migration, calling these actions “commendable.”

He noted that Pakistan has become a strong example for countries in the region and beyond.

Pakistani diplomats posted in Brussels, along with senior Belgian Interior Ministry officials, also attended the meeting.
