Pakistan Bar Council elections: Asma Jahangir group wins majority seats in Punjab

Peshawar/Lahore (Web Desk): In the recent Pakistan Bar Council elections, the Asma Jahangir Group has emerged victorious, securing the highest number of seats in Punjab.

Out of the 11 seats contested in Punjab, the Asma Jahangir Group won 8, while the Hamid Khan Group secured 2 seats. One seat's results are still pending.

Hamid Khan Group's candidates, Salman Akram Raja and Shafqat Chauhan, were elected as members of the Pakistan Bar Council.

The Asma Jahangir Group's elected members include Azam Nazeer Tarar, Ahsan Bhoon, Peer Masood Chishti, Aamir Saeed Ran, Tahir Nasirullah Waraich, Hafeez Rehman Chaudhry, Saqib Akram Gondal, and Syed Qalb Hassan.

The final results of the Pakistan Bar Council elections will be announced on December 22.

Meanwhile, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, four members have been elected to the Pakistan Bar Council. These include JUI's Naveed Akhtar Advocate, Milgari Wakilan's Rehmanullah Shah Advocate, Insaaf Lawyers Forum's Sitar Khan Advocate, and Jamaat-e-Islami's ILM wing's Qazi Arshad. All of them were elected as members of the Pakistan Bar Council.
