Independence Day to mark victory in Maarka-e-Haq, says Tarar

Islamabad (Web Desk): Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar, stated on Wednesday that the nation would not only commemorate its Independence Day tomorrow but would also proudly honour the triumph in the Maarka-e-Haq — the battle for truth — with fitting zeal and dignity.

While speaking to journalists, Tarar expressed that this year’s Independence Day carries special meaning due to the recent victory, which has uplifted the nation's spirit. He said the entire country—from children to the elderly—is showing immense patriotism, stepping out of their homes with national flags in hand and expressing love for Pakistan.

He emphasized that the celebration transcends political boundaries, as citizens unite in joy, regardless of differing views.

Tarar acknowledged that while some voices are raising calls for protests, the majority of Pakistanis are focused on celebrating the country’s independence and recent accomplishments.

He said this unity and enthusiasm serve as a powerful message to India, highlighting how vibrant nations honor their freedom and achievements.

As part of the planned festivities, a grand fireworks show will be broadcast live at midnight from various cities, including the capital, Islamabad.

Celebrations scheduled for the next morning include patriotic songs, special parades, and ceremonial flag hoisting across the country. A central event is also being arranged at Shakarparian to mark the occasion.

The minister congratulated the people of Pakistan, calling the dual celebration a testament to the country's collective courage, determination, and unity.
