Mian Channu (Web Desk): Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on Tuesday visited Mian Channu and presented a cheque of Rs100 million and a car with a number plate "PAK 92.97" to Olympic gold medallist Arshad Nadeem.
The chief minister reached Nadeem’s hometown in a helicopter where she was greeted by the javelin star and his family.
The chief minister congratulated Arshad and his mother Razia Parveen, with whom she also had a chat.
She showered praises on Arshad Nadeem for winning the gold medal in the javelin throw category.
The chief minister also handed Arshad’s coach Salman Iqbal Butt a cheque worth Rs5m, commending him for the training he provided to the javelin superstar.
On the occasion, the Punjab CM also promised to build the roads leading to the gold medalist’s village and a hospital, as well as to establish a university in Mian Channu.
