Rawalpindi (Web Desk): A delegation from the United States Congress, led by Congressman Jack Bergman, held a significant meeting with Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir. The meeting focused on matters of mutual interest, with special emphasis on regional security and defense cooperation.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), both sides reaffirmed the importance of sustained engagement based on mutual respect, shared values, and aligned strategic interests.
The US delegation praised the Pakistan Armed Forces for their pivotal role in the fight against terrorism and acknowledged the country’s consistent efforts in promoting regional peace and stability.
The visiting members of Congress also expressed strong commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation in key areas such as security, trade, investment, and economic development.
During the meeting, both parties also signed memorandums of understanding (MoUs) to boost training collaboration in the field of information technology.
General Asim Munir thanked the delegation for their visit and reiterated Pakistan’s desire to deepen and broaden its long-standing partnership with the United States.
