Kabul (Agencies): The death toll from a massive suicide attack on Afghan protesters in the Nangarhar province mounted to 68, officials confirmed on Wednesday.
The bombing on Tuesday in the eastern province of Nangarhar was the latest in a string of deadly insurgent attacks which has taken the lives of hundreds of civilians and security forces across the war-battered Afghanistan.
The bomber struck in a crowd of people who were staging a protest against a local police chief in Nangarhar province which falls in an area close to Pakistan; the protesters had come from Achin district.
The blast also left 165 people wounded according to provincial governor spokesman Ataullah Khogyani.
There has been no claim of responsibility for the massacre.
