Lahore (Staff Report): At least six people including five women received burn injuries when unknown suspects threw acid on them in Lahore’s Manawan area on Wednesday.
The victims have been shifted to Mayo Hospital for treatment.
The accused fled the scene after attacking the group of people, while police have launched investigations into the matter.
In April, two men threw acid on three female students of University of Gujrat.
According to details, three students were waiting at a bus stop to go to university when motorcycle-riders approached them and threw acid on two sisters and their friend in the Dang district of Gujrat.
Immodestly, victims were shifted to Aziz Bhatti Shaheed Teaching Hospital where they are being treated at the burn unit.
According to police, one of the suspects was apprehended by passers-by and later handed over to the police. He is in custody and under investigation and a search for the remaining suspect is underway.
The arrested suspect identified as the uncle of two of the victims who are sisters however, the reason behind the attack is yet to be known, police reported.
