Islamabad (Web Desk): Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar, on Monday reaffirmed that extremist forces would not be allowed to spread their ideology or disrupt the nation’s peace.
Speaking at the Qaumi Paigham-e-Amman Committee conference in Islamabad, he highlighted that Pakistan stood united in its determination to eliminate terrorism in all its forms.
Tarar explained that the fight against militancy would involve both direct action and strategic non-military efforts.
He credited Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for guiding the country with a firm and coordinated approach against terrorism.
The information minister added that measures were being taken to strengthen Pakistan’s national narrative and counter the designs of those working against the state.
He appreciated the role of religious scholars for defending the country’s ideological foundations and promoting harmony.
Tarar said that said the committee would travel across the nation to share Islam’s message of peace, emphasizing that terrorists have no ties to the religion, the country, or humanity.
Tarar described the Paigham-e-Amman Committee as a broad-based body including minority representatives, highlighting that protecting minority rights is a collective duty.
He said the committee, now fully empowered, would play an active role in exposing terrorist propaganda.
Pointing to the critical role of scholars, he condemned extremist groups supported from abroad and reiterated the government’s commitment to eradicating terrorism while promoting the true peaceful teachings of Islam.
He also noted that the committee’s secretariat had been formally established to facilitate programs aimed at fostering societal stability and harmony.
Tarar stressed that terrorism is not confined by religion or nationality and underlined that the committee would continue to assert that violent extremism has no link to any faith.
He added that there is consensus across the Muslim world that no form of jihad can be directed against the state of Pakistan.
The minister further highlighted that Islam is a religion of peace, and the committee has been entrusted with spreading this message to every household. He revealed that during his upcoming visit to Peshawar, he would meet scholars from all schools of thought to reinforce this mission.
Reiterating the government’s resolve against militancy, Tarar clarified that individuals captured or neutralized have no connection with Islam.
He also exposed extremist outfits such as Fitna-ul-Hindustan and Fitna-ul-Khawarij as recipients of foreign funding, pointing out their continued attacks on innocent civilians.
Amid ongoing security challenges, he reaffirmed his commitment to spreading a message of peace throughout the country.
