Karachi (Staff Report/Agencies): Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) MNA Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui on Sunday announced to resign as Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication.
Addressing a press conference along with senior Muttahida Quami Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) leaders, Siddiqui said it was becoming increasingly difficult for him to remain a part of the federal cabinet over "unfulfilled promises" on part of the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.
He, however, said the MQM-P helped PTI form government, emphasising that his resignation did not mean the party was withdrawing its support. “We promised to back the Imran Khan-led government in every difficult stage,” he said.
Siddiqui said no progress was made on PTI’s part to ensure completion of Sindh development projects.
