PM Shehbaz exchanges pleasantries with world leaders at international forum in Ashgabat

Ashgabat (Web Desk): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif spent Friday engaging with world leaders at an international forum marking the International Year of Peace and Trust 2025, the International Day of Neutrality, and Turkmenistan’s anniversary of permanent neutrality.

On the sidelines of the gathering, the prime minister held informal chats with several world leaders including Russian President Vladimir Putin, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Tajikistan’s Emomali Rahmon, and Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov.

Footage shared by the Prime Minister’s Office captured him warmly holding hands with President Putin and President Zhaparov while speaking with them individually.

Earlier in the day, PM Shehbaz had addressed the forum, drawing attention as leaders later came together in a room for relaxed discussions on matters of common concern.

He also joined the international dignitaries at the iconic Neutrality Monument for a wreath-laying ceremony before addressing the forum.

During his remarks, PM Shehbaz reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to resolving global disputes peacefully and called on the international community to ensure the Afghan Taliban honour their obligations and take firm action against terrorist groups operating from Afghan territory.
