Islamabad (Web Desk): The government on Wednesday decided to release salary of current month to the employees of public sector departments before Eid-ul-Fitr.
A decision to this effect was taken during a consultation between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar in Islamabad, the Radio Pakistan reported.
It was also decided that the monthly pension will also be given before Eid-ul-Fitr.
The finance minister directed the Secretary Finance to make arrangements forthwith in this regard.
Meanwhile, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb on Wednesday also confirmed that the premier has issued directives for the payment of salaries and pensions to the government employees for the month of April in advance.
In a statement, the minister said that PM Shehbaz had formally directed Finance Minister Ishaq Dar for the payment of salaries and pensions before Eid-ul-Fitr for the convenience of the employees, she said in a statement.
Earlier, the Government of Sindh had announced releasing the salaries of Muslim government employees in advance ahead of Eid ul Fitr.
