Islamabad (Web Desk): The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of Cabinet on Wednesday approved amendment in existing gas allocation priority for industrial, domestic and commercial uses, to facilitate the industry using gas in its processes.
The approval was granted at a meeting of the Committee chaired by Minister for Finance Muhammad Aurangzeb in Islamabad today.
Under the amended priorities, gas allocation for industrial processes has been placed in the first priority alongside domestic and commercial sectors, while gas allocation for industries using captive power has been relegated to a lower priority alongside the Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) sector.
The ECC also authorised the National Highway Authority (NHA) and Ministry of Communications to proceed with the procurement of civil works on Kalkatak-Chitral 48 km section project at N-45.
The ECC after deliberation also decided that Pakistan Central Cotton Committee be considered for a wind-up and a case be submitted to the Cabinet Committee of the Federal Government for Rightsizing.
