Peshawar (Web Desk): At least one Frontier Corps (FC) official was martyred and 11 others, including seven FC personnel, were injured in a blast on Peshawar’s Warsak Road on Monday.
Rescue official have shifted the injured to the nearby hospital.
Warsak Superintendent of Police (SP) Mohammad Arshad Khan confirmed that a vehicle of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa FC’s Mohmand Rifles regiment was targeted in the attack at around 10:30am.
The vehicle was heading towards Peshawar from Machni when the blast occurred, he said.
The SP further added that the blast was carried out using an improvised explosive device (IED).
He said that further investigation was under way and that a report by the Bomb Disposal Unit would further clarify the nature of the blast.
it is pertinent to mention that last week, security forces convoy narrowly escaped a suicide attack on Miramshah road in Bannu.
