Islamabad (staff Report/Agencies): Islamabad is reviewing to restrict US diplomat's movement in Pakistan after the Trump administration imposed travel ban on Pakistani diplomats in the United States.
According to details, the travel limitations on the Pakistani diplomats and their families in the US are going to in effect from on Friday, further escalating already deteriorated bilateral relations.
In response Pakistani also plans to practice the same restrictions on US diplomats in Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi. The US officials are already prohibited from risky areas in order to protect them from possible terrorist attack.
Earlier, after the Trump administration’s confirmation US State Department has informed that Pakistani diplomats could not travel around freely in the United States of America without seeking permission from relevant authorities.
According to details, Officials of the embassy and four consulates are required to get permission from the state department five days before going beyond the set limits.
The US lawmakers have also advised the Trump administration not to take imposed such restrictions as it was not a smart thing.
Amid the diplomatic tussle the US State Department had confirmed before via email that there were “no restrictions on travel for Pakistani diplomats in the United States” despite reports that they will soon be subjected to new travel restrictions.
It is pertinent to remember that heightened tensions between Islamabad and Washington started when travel restrictions imposed by Pakistan on US officials after an American diplomat rammed his vehicle into a Pakistani citizen, following which he succumbed to his injuries.
