1st ODI: Bangladesh beat Pakistan by 8 wickets

Dhaka (Web Desk): In the first match of the three-match ODI series, Bangladesh comfortably defeated Pakistan by 8 wickets, chasing down the modest target of 115 runs in the 15th over with just one wicket lost.

Tamzid Hasan starred for Bangladesh with 67 runs, while Najm Hossain contributed 27.

Earlier at the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium in Dhaka, Bangladesh won the toss and chose to field first. Pakistan, batting first, were bowled out for 114 runs in 30.4 overs.

The opening partnership between Sahibzada Farhan and Moiz Siddiqui added 41 runs, but after Farhan and Mohammad Rizwan’s dismissals, the batting lineup collapsed, with 9 wickets down for 82 runs.

A late partnership between Abrar Ahmed and Faheem Ashraf helped the team reach 114.

Pakistan’s scores included Sahibzada Farhan 27, Moiz Siddiqui 18, Shamil Hossain 4, Mohammad Rizwan 10, Salman Ali Agha 5, Abdul Samad 0, Hussain Talat 4, captain Shaheen Shah Afridi 4, Wasim Jr 0, and Faheem Ashraf 37.

Bangladesh’s bowlers dominated, with Nahid Rana taking 5 wickets, Mehidy Hasan 3, Taskin Ahmed 1, and Mustafizur Rahman 1.

The second and third matches of the series are scheduled for March 13 and 15 at Dhaka’s Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.
