NDMA warns of floods, landslides as fresh monsoon spell begins

Islamabad (Web Desk): The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a flood and landslide alert as a new spell of monsoon rains is expected to affect several parts of Pakistan until Monday.

The authority has advised citizens to remain vigilant and adopt necessary safety measures during the ongoing rainy season.

Through public awareness campaigns and coordination with media outlets, the NDMA urged people living in vulnerable areas to stay updated on weather conditions and follow official safety instructions.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast strong winds, thunderstorms and heavy rainfall in parts of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab.

According to the forecast, intermittent rain is also expected in most districts of Punjab, which is likely to bring a slight decrease in temperatures. However, humid weather conditions are expected to persist in many areas despite the rainfall.
