Islamabad (Web Desk): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday took immediate notice of the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority’s (NEPRA) recently announced Prosumer Regulations 2026.

He instructed the Power Division to file an appeal without delay to ensure that existing solar consumers’ contracts remain protected.

According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s (PM) Office, during a special high-level meeting focused on the new regulations, the prime minister emphasized the need for a comprehensive action plan.

He highlighted that the benefits currently enjoyed by around 466,000 solar consumers should not create additional financial pressure on the 37.6 million electricity users who rely solely on the national grid.

The session saw the participation of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Federal Ministers Ahad Khan Cheema, Attaullah Tarar, Ali Pervez Malik, Sardar Owais Khan Leghari, Minister of State Bilal Azhar Kayani, Adviser on Privatization Muhammad Ali, and other senior officials.
