Lahore/Quetta/Karachi/Peshawar (Staff Report/Agencies): The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Pakistan rose to 1,477,573 on Friday after 3,498 new cases surfaced in the country during the last 24 hours.
Overall 555,920 cases were confirmed in Sindh, 493,478 in Punjab, 207,820 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 34,986 in Balochistan, 132,711 in Islamabad, 11,074 in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) and 41,584 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
As per the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) data, 58,077 tests were conducted in last 24 hours while positivity ratio remained 6.02%.
According to the government's COVID-19 portal, the death toll related to coronavirus has reached to 29,687 with 39 fatalities reported during the last 24 hours.
Over the last twenty four hours, total number of recovered COVID-19 patients across the country reached 1,365,518 after another 5,761 virus recoveries were reported.

Meanwhile, Federal Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar, who also heads the NCOC, said on Friday that Pakistan administered record 2.24 million Covid vaccine doses on Thursday.
In a post on Twitter, the minister wrote, “Another record set with 2.24 million vaccinations in a day. Last 4 days in a row we have vaccinated more than 2 million each day. Every 3 out of 4 Pakistani’s eligible for vaccination have recieved at least 1 dose, the minister said. 58% are fully vaccinated. Well done Pakistan.”
It is pertinent to mention that the global coronavirus cases have reportedly surpassed 406,655 million and death toll tops 5,809,470.
