COAS Gen Bajwa arrives in UK on official visit

London (Web Desk) Chief of Army Staff ( COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa reached United Kingdom (UK) on official visit on Thursday.

According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the COAS will attend the passing out parade at the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst, as the chief guest.

"The army chief will also call on military leadership of United Kingdom during the visit," the military's media wing said.

Earlier, General Bajwa also met Commander Iraqi Navy Lieutenant General Ahmed Jasim Maarij Abdullah Al Zayid who called on him in Rawalpindi.

As per the ISPR, matters of mutual interest, regional security issues and measures to further enhance bilateral defence collaboration were discussed during the meeting.

COAS General Bajwa said that Pakistan values its brotherly relationship with Iraq and acknowledged sacrifices rendered by the Iraqi nation in fighting terrorism.

He also said that terrorism is a global threat that has the potential to destabilise the region that needs a well-coordinated response.

The visiting dignitary acknowledged the professionalism of Pakistan Armed Forces and also offered his condolence on the loss of precious lives during Heli crash in Balochistan.
