Islamabad (Staff Report): Balloting of Hajj applications under government scheme has been delayed for one day.
According to a spokesperson of Ministry of Religious Affairs, now the balloting will be held on Tuesday, adding that the draw has been delayed for one day on the request of designated banks on account of their inability to compile the data of applicants by March 10 (Sunday). The ministry, he said, had directed the banks to clear the drafts and cheques of intending pilgrims’ deposited Hajj dues by Monday and complete online entry of the applicants as soon as possible.
The spokesperson said 216, 542 intending pilgrims submitted their applications for Hajj this year. He said Minister for Religious Affairs Noor ul Haq Qadri will perform the balloting.
He said that the particulars of the applicants had also been uploaded on the ministry’s website. He asked the applicants to check their particulars on the website and correct the mistakes if any.
