Islamabad (Web Desk): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has said that the unanimous 1973 Constitution is a shining symbol of Pakistan’s federal integrity and national unity, adding that the country will continue its journey toward development and prosperity with dignity on the global stage.
In his special message to the nation on the occasion of “Constitution Day” (April 10), the Prime Minister paid rich tribute to the political leaders who gave final shape to the 1973 Constitution, saying the day reminds the nation of those architects who provided a unanimous framework that continues to unite the country.
Shehbaz Sharif emphasized that the Constitution is a sacred contract between the state and its citizens, defining the moral, legal, and administrative rights and responsibilities of both.
He said the 1973 Constitution guarantees fundamental human rights for all citizens and provides a clear legal framework for their protection and implementation.
The Prime Minister noted that the Constitution laid a strong foundation for Pakistan’s parliamentary democratic system.
He said all state institutions are functioning under the Constitution, which is essential for national cohesion and unity.
He further stated that Pakistan’s institutional framework, established under the Constitution, is committed to ensuring economic stability and a brighter future for the country.
Concluding his message, the Prime Minister thanked Allah Almighty for the respect and dignity Pakistan enjoys and expressed confidence that the country will continue to strengthen its position in the international community as a proud and sovereign nation, moving steadily toward prosperity.
