PSX suffers sharp decline as KSE-100 slips to 146,480

Karachi (Web Desk): The Pakistan Stock Exchange’s KSE-100 Index experienced a sharp downturn on Monday, falling by 11,015.95 points, or 6.99 percent, to settle at 146,480.15 points, down from 157,496.10 points in the previous session.

Trading activity saw a significant rise, with 621,653,341 shares changing hands compared to 363,145,903 shares the day before, while the total market turnover reached Rs37.116 billion, up from Rs23.108 billion.

Among the 480 companies that traded on the bourse, 33 registered gains, 386 suffered declines, and 61 maintained their previous prices.

The futures market also witnessed heavy losses, as 316 companies were active with only one advancing and 315 posting declines.
