Champions Trophy 2025 final: New Zealand win toss, bat first against India

Dubai (Web Desk): New Zealand won the toss and decided to bat first against India in the highly anticipated final of the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) Champions Trophy 2025 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday.

This marks another thrilling chapter in their rivalry, with both teams boasting a strong history in ODI cricket. Out of 119 previous encounters between the two, India has come out on top in 61, while New Zealand has won 50. The rest ended in a draw or no result.

India head into this final with undeniable momentum. Having breezed through the group stages, followed by a dominant semi-final win, they are brimming with confidence. The familiarity of the Dubai conditions gives them a distinct advantage, as they’ve played all their matches in this venue during the tournament.

On the other hand, New Zealand will be aiming to find their best form after a loss to India earlier in the group stage. Despite that setback, they have looked formidable against their other opponents in the competition and will be keen to regroup and challenge India for the title.

With both teams hungry for victory, this promises to be a fiercely contested battle for the Champions Trophy.
