Air Cheif Sidhu, Turkiye delegation discuss defence cooperation, regional security dynamics

Islamabad (Web Desk): A high-level delegation led by Mr. Yaşar Güler, Minister of Defence of the Republic of Turkiye, visited Air Headquarters, Islamabad, and met with Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force (PAF). The engagement focused on evolving regional security dynamics, ongoing defence collaboration, and future cooperation in emerging warfare domains.

Air Chief Marshal Sidhu highlighted the deep-rooted brotherly ties and strategic alignment between Pakistan and Turkiye, reaffirming PAF’s commitment to bolstering collaboration in advanced training and aerospace technologies. Both sides agreed to form dedicated joint working groups to streamline progress in areas of mutual interest.

Minister Güler expressed gratitude for the warm hospitality extended by PAF and praised its performance and operational readiness during the recent conflict with India. He emphasized Turkiye's desire to deepen bilateral defence ties, especially through joint ventures in disruptive technologies, advanced avionics, and unmanned aerial systems. The continuation of the pilot exchange programme was acknowledged as a key pillar of professional development.
