Islamabad (Web Desk): The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday ordered the authorities to transfer former premier Imran Khan’s wife, Bushra Bibi, from Bani Gala to Adiala jail.

According to details, IHC Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb announced the reserved verdict on the plea filed by Bushra Bibi seeking her transfer to the Adiala jail, where her husband Imran Khan is currently incarcerated.

The court also decaled that the notification declaring Bushra Bibi's residence Bani Gala as a sub-jail "null and void".

On May 2, the IHC had reserved its verdict on Bushra Bibi’s petition.

Although the petition had been disposed of last month due to the former first lady’s lawyers failing to appear before the court, a plea was filed the same day seeking its restoration.

Bushra Bibi was taken into custody on January 31 after an Islamabad accountability court sentenced her and Imran Khan to 14 years in jail in the Toshakhana reference.

The authorities had declared the Bani Gala residence a "sub-jail" to confine the former first lady at the request of Adiala jail superintendent.
