Lahore (Staff Report): The Lahore district and sessions judge on Wednesday accepted Meesha Shafi's plea seeking the transfer of a defamation suit filed by Ali Zafar to another court, being heard by Additional Sessions Judge Shakeel Ahmed.
The application for the same had been filed on May 4, and the court had reserved its verdict on the matter the same day.
Zafar filed a defamation suit against Shafi after she accused him of sexual harassment. He denied the allegations and wants her to pay restitution for the damage to his reputation and leveling false allegations against him.
Meesha Shafi had accused her fellow singer and actor Ali Zafar of sexual harassment last year.
Denying the allegations, Zafar later filed a defamation suit against Meesha under the Defamation Ordinance 2002, claiming damages worth Rs1 billion.
