Karachi (Web Desk): On the fourth day of the business week, a decline in gold prices has been recorded across the country. According to the Sarafa Bazaar Association, the price of one tola gold decreased by Rs600, now standing at Rs466,162, while the price of 10 grams of gold dropped by Rs515, bringing it down to Rs399,685.
Pakistan's annual demand for gold ranges between 60 to 90 tons, valued at approximately $8 to $12 billion. However, more than 90% of the gold trade remains undocumented.
According to a CCP investigative report, 70% of the country's gold demand is related to weddings and events.
Pakistan relies on gold imports, and in the 2024 fiscal year, the country imported gold worth $17 million. According to official documents, by the end of 2025, Pakistan’s official gold reserves are expected to reach 64.76 tons, valued at around $9 billion.
This reduction in gold prices presents an opportunity for investors and reflects the fluctuations in both global and local gold markets.
