OIC hails Makkah Joint Defence Agreement

Jeddah (Web Desk): Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Hissein Ibrahim Taha has welcomed the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement between Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and Türkiye.

In a statement, the OIC Secretary-General expressed strong appreciation and support for the agreement, describing it as an important strategic step that reflects the commitment of the three countries to strengthening regional and international cooperation.

Hissein Ibrahim Taha said the agreement would serve as an important pillar for promoting security and stability in the region and the Muslim world.

He added that it demonstrates a shared determination to address emerging security challenges and further strengthens the principles of solidarity and constructive partnership among OIC member states.

The OIC Secretary-General expressed hope that the agreement would contribute to achieving peace, stability, and prosperity in the region and benefit the international community as a whole.

Meanwhile, Bahrain also welcomed the signing of the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement, describing it as a strategic partnership based on mutual cooperation and a shared commitment to protecting regional and global stability.

In a statement, Bahrain’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs highlighted the strong defence capabilities, military expertise, and contributions of Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and Türkiye towards enhancing regional security.

The ministry said the agreement represents a significant effort to strengthen cooperation and support stability in the region.
