Security forces kill 37 Khawarij in Mohmand and North Waziristan's Abakhel

Rawalpindi (Web Desk): Pakistan Army troops carried out a prompt and effective operation, eliminating 30 Khawarij militants in Mohmand, the security sources stated on Wednesday.

As per sources, the action came after intelligence reports revealed an attempt by the Afghan Taliban, in coordination with Khawarij, to push a large group of militants across the border into Mohmand.

The infiltration plan aimed to enter Pakistan through the Turkmanzai border region and conduct terrorist activities within the country. However, the plot was thwarted as the infiltrators encountered a powerful counteroffensive from the Pakistan Army, resulting in a crushing defeat for the assailants.

Security sources said the operation is still in progress, with additional enemy fighters reportedly taken down in follow-up actions.

Meanwhile, in another counterterrorism operation in the Abakhel area of North Waziristan, Pakistan Army troops successfully killed seven Khawarij militants.

Officials confirmed that the slain terrorists had been preparing to stage an attack in the region but were neutralized before they could execute their plan.
