Islamabad (Web Desk): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on felicitated the entire nation on the weekly inflation rate dropping further to 3.57%.
In a statement, the premier expressed his satisfaction with the continued decline in the weekly inflation rate (Sensitive Price Index - SPI).
This marked the lowest inflation level in the past six years, a significant achievement that the prime minister credited to the collective efforts of the government’s economic team and the blessings of Allah Almighty.
The current SPI reflects the lowest rate recorded since October 4, 2018, demonstrating a positive shift in the country's economic trends.
PM Shehbaz also highlighted that inflation had decreased by a substantial 39.11% compared to the same period last year, showcasing the effectiveness of the policies put in place by his administration.
“I had vowed to work day and night to alleviate the hardships of the people. As the servant of Pakistan, I remain steadfast to all the promises I have made,” the prime minister reiterated.
He further emphasized that the government is committed to taking steps to ensure long-term economic stability, which include measures to provide employment, promote industrial growth, and attract more foreign investment.
PM Shehbaz said that the country’s path to economic recovery is gaining momentum, as evidenced by the steady increase in remittances, growing investments from international allies, and strengthened diplomatic ties.
The prime minister also noted that the political sacrifices made by the leadership were beginning to bear fruit, as all stakeholders continued to play a vital role in the nation's journey toward prosperity.
PM Shehbaz expressed optimism that Pakistan is on the right track toward achieving sustained development.
