Rawalpindi (Web Desk): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder and former premier Imran Khan on Wednesday said that he will tender apology if the authorities provide CCTV footage of the violent protests.
In an informal conversation with journalists during court appearance at Adiala jail, the incarcerated former premier said if PTI activists were found participating in the events of May 9 riots, he would apologise, expel them from the party, and seek punishment for them.
It is pertinent to mention that the violent protests broke out across Pakistan on May 2023, following Khan’s arrest from the premises of Islamabad High Court (IHC) where he appeared in corruption case.
The violent protesters had attacked properties including military installations in several parts of the country, prompting the authorities to try the rioters under the Army Act.
