Pakistan, China sign $4 billion agricultural MoUs in Beijing

Beijing (Web Desk): Pakistan and China have signed multiple memorandums of understanding (MoUs) worth $4 billion to boost bilateral cooperation in the agricultural sector. 

Federal Minister for National Food Security Rana Tanveer Hussain held meetings with senior officials of Chinese companies in Beijing, during which around two dozen agreements were finalized between the two countries.

Rana Tanveer Hussain described the Pak-China Agricultural Investment Conference as a significant milestone and expressed Pakistan’s commitment to integrate its agricultural exports into China’s vast import market.

He stated that these agreements will open new avenues for agricultural machinery, advanced seeds, and smart agriculture technologies, leading to a revolutionary increase in data-driven crop production.

The minister further added that this agricultural cooperation will strengthen Pakistan’s food security and double its export capacity.

Rana Tanveer Hussain also highlighted that China’s $215 billion agricultural import market offers excellent opportunities for Pakistan, which has the potential to supply quality agricultural products at competitive prices.
