Lahore (Web Desk): Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif met with a delegation of prominent Chinese investors, who expressed a keen interest in investing in the province. During the meeting, Maryam Nawaz highlighted the numerous investment opportunities available in Punjab and assured the Chinese investors that the provincial government would provide the best support for their investments.
Maryam Nawaz emphasized that Punjab has introduced the "Zero Time to Start" policy for the first time, aimed at providing investors with the facility to start their businesses immediately. She stated that Punjab is currently going through the best phase in terms of investment, with vast opportunities in the province’s industrial zones and industrial parks.
She also announced several incentives for Chinese investors, including a tax holiday and import duty relief, adding that the government is eager to welcome foreign investment in sectors like infrastructure, IT, and medical tourism.
The Chief Minister mentioned that during her visit to China last year, steps were taken to bring innovation to the medical and other sectors. She noted that the real estate sector in Punjab also offers excellent investment opportunities, with ongoing infrastructure development projects, such as those by the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA).
Maryam Nawaz further stated that due to the growth in the tourism sector, there is an increasing demand for high-quality hotels. Additionally, projects like the Glass Train and High-Speed Train are being introduced to improve transportation. She also mentioned that business operations in Punjab are now online, making it easier for investors to start their businesses by submitting an application without the need for paperwork or filing.
The Chinese delegation expressed interest in investing across various sectors, indicating that economic ties between the two countries are set to strengthen further.
