Washington (Web Desk): US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth stated that the conflict with Iran could either remain limited to a few weeks or extend longer if necessary. He emphasized that the timeline of the war will be determined by US strategic objectives.

Speaking at a media briefing, Hegseth clarified that the United States is not expanding its military objectives in Iran, but has established control over Iranian airspace and maritime zones.

He also highlighted that the US has strengthened its air defense systems in the Middle East to protect both American forces and allied personnel, leaving no gaps in regional security.

Hegseth further addressed what he described as misconceptions by Iran regarding U.S. military capabilities, noting that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) had expected limited U.S. engagement, but reality has proven otherwise.
