Lahore (Staff Report/Agencies): Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) vice president Maryam Nawaz Sharif has been tested for Covid-19 again after her health deteriorated.
According to party sources, Maryam was suffering from severe throat pain after her family doctors recommended a COVID-19 test. The result is awaited.
PML-N Deputy Secretary-General Ataullah Tarar told the media on Monday that Maryam was undergoing treatment and after recovery, she will start taking part in political activities.
On Monday, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Pakistan rose to 692,231 after 4,323 new coronavirus cases surfaced in the country during the last 24 hours.
Overall 266,618 cases were confirmed in Sindh, 233,348 in Punjab, 92,432 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 19,785 in Balochistan, 61,552 in Islamabad 5,059 in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) and 13,446 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
According to the government's COVID-19 portal, the death toll related to coronavirus has reached to 14,821 with 43 fatalities reported during the last 24 hours.
