Islamabad (Web Desk): Archbishop of Rawalpindi-Islamabad Dr. Joseph Arshad has expressed the Christian community’s unwavering solidarity with Pakistan’s Armed Forces, saying the community is prepared to make any sacrifice necessary to protect the country’s defence, security and sovereignty.
In a message issued ahead of Defence and Martyrs Day, the Archbishop described September 6 as a landmark date in Pakistan’s history.
He recalled that the nation’s Armed Forces had confronted a considerably larger enemy with courage and determination, successfully defeating its hostile intentions.
Dr. Joseph Arshad said the occasion serves as a reminder of the extraordinary sacrifices made by Pakistan’s martyrs and Ghazis.
Their bravery, he said, played a vital role in protecting the country’s independence, territorial integrity and sovereignty.
Dr. Joseph Arshad also highlighted the significant contribution of Pakistan’s Christian community to the country’s defence over the years, saying its members have rendered important services and made sacrifices for the nation.
The Archbishop urged people across Pakistan to reaffirm their commitment to the country’s future and work with honesty, dedication and a spirit of service to promote national development, economic prosperity, peace and stability.
