Pakistan Army continues rescue and relief operations in flood-hit areas of South Punjab

Lahore (Web Desk): The Pakistan Army has expanded its rescue and relief work in flood-stricken parts of southern Punjab, where rising water levels have forced thousands from their homes.

In Sahiwal district, 30 relief camps have been established with the support of local authorities to accommodate residents of 49 villages inundated by floodwaters. The situation has become more critical after a surge in the Sutlej River was reported at Ganda Singh Wala.

To restore connectivity in Khanewal, repair work on the Rangu Bridge at Head Sadhnia has been completed, allowing smoother movement in the area. Simultaneously, army teams are operating in Mian Channu, Abdul Hakeem and Tulamba, evacuating families along with their livestock to safer ground.

Rescue and relief missions are also in progress in Muzaffargarh, where affected localities including Behram Pur, Rangpur, Jawana Bangla, Muradabad, Doaba and Aashiq Chowk are receiving assistance. Displaced communities continue to be shifted to secure locations with the provision of essential support.
